This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining critical database infrastructure for metagenomic assays. Important note: this job description is in regard to genomic reference databases, not database administrator work for database systems.
The focus of the position will be updating and maintaining reference databases utilizing accumulated public and proprietary data in both standard and proprietary technologies. Critical to this activity will be version control, documentation, and validation of metagenomic databases.
The candidate will work well with a multidisciplinary team. This exciting opportunity will involve preparation of peer-reviewed as well as white paper publications on methods, theory, and validation of complex metagenomic database structures with the support of a diverse team of bioinformaticists, software developers, clinical specialists, sales, and microbiologists.
Proficient in all assigned laboratory procedures required for sequencing and qPCR tests.
With regular guidance from the Laboratory Manager, provides daily oversite of laboratory testing personnel and assigned laboratory areas.
CosmosID is recruiting a new Bioinformatics Analyst to join their Bioinformatics Services team. The Bioinformatics Services team covers the data management, bioinformatics analysis, report delivery, and support for client microbial genomics projects. The team also works with the CosmosID lab and other bioinformaticians for product and process improvements. This role will be part of CosmosID’s Bioinformatics Services team.
An individual in this role verifies compliance to applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulations (GCP and/or GLP) by performing study protocol, data, report, in-lab phase inspections where applicable, for all study types within a laboratory. A QA Associate will lead in QA archive maintenance and record keeping, participate in internal and external facility and supplemental inspections, lead process improvement and harmonization efforts that promote best practices, initiate and review SOPs and prepare and deliver training in basic quality/regulatory matters. At this level the individual will be starting to gain experience in assisting with client inspection hosting, and general QMS auditing.
